Snapshots of Domesticity
It's amazing how much life has changed in the last month. I'm really enjoying building new habits, traditions and rules in our new home. Finding something between the methods of our former independance and discovering the things we've always been rubish at that the other does really well. Sweet...
Snapshots from the Harding household include:
***Head Chef status - two independant self-suficient people in one kitchen was interesting until we devised this cunning little plan. Whoever calls Head Chef is in charge of the meal and cannot be questioned or supersceded.
***The myth of the morning person - before we married we thought Steve was the morning person in our relationship. I can manage a few mutters but little more pre-9am. Post nuptuals I have discovered the secret to Steve's morning jubilance is a lie in. I think that's totally cheating.
***Traditions - you don't know what traditions you hold until someone tries to change them. As well as discovering a little more about ourselves and our families I've particuarly enjoyed forming new traditions for our nucleas. Baths at weekends, silly conversations at the days close, debates and musings over dinner and our whiskey before bed.
***Nicknames - Some how I have been dubbed T-Rex by my loving husband. Apparently my strong legs, massive mouth and piddly little arms are remeniscent of the unfortunate Dinosaur. Whenever Steve wants cheering up all I have to do is dangle artlessly from his chin up bar.
The myth of the morning person is just that - a myth. Anyone who functions properly at 8am either (a) got up at 5.30am, (b) has drank far too much coffee or (c) is a liar.

Simon,
Not sure what that makes me,
I do get up at 5:30, because of work, not because I have to, I do not drink coffee (much - only one a mont at the moment, and I do not like telling lies.
Carla, welcome back, glad you had a wonderful time, goo to see you enjoying being married.
god bless

What a picture you have conjured for us. Carla have you not realised Steve pretends to need cheering up just to see you dangle, helplessly like a dinosaur. With you on the "head Chef" fight. Such a modern man thing great fun. much love. R
