Here comes the Hen

Carla_charlotteA week from today my best friend Miss Charlotte New will be Mrs Charlotte Terris. It totally crept up on me, I can't believe the change is iminent. I hadn't really contemplated it until her Hen Day on Saturday. Last week was such a chaos of moving, fundraising, Hen planning, hospital visits and band practices that I didn't have time to stop and think that Charlotte is actually getting married!

The end of an era

247_card_jonahFor seven years I've bounded into the 24-7 International office at Revelation Church in Chichester shrilling "Good Morning" to the Fusion, Pacso and Revelation guys and gals before settling into a day of catalysing prayer around the globe. It's been a happy, social existence ensconced in the Church and community that gave birth to this movement. Sadly, my happy bounding will be coming to an end this week...

Finding the Hearts True Home

84112sacredheartofjesuspostersI’ve finally managed to clear a space in my reading diary for Richard Foster’s respected book on the nature of prayer. Only a couple of chapters in I have to say I’m not disappointed…

My Husband the Rock Star!

Image54Nancyhayton_170Oh my goodness I am so proud of my fabulous musical husband, he's reached the dizzy heights of D List Celeb. Sunday his co-production of "I could sing of you love forever" was played on Radio Two and this afternoon I jumped around the living room in glee as Cathy Burton was played on Hollyoaks! With my gorgeous husband tinkling on his keyboard. Spanning the dignity of the BBC and the young, hip Channel 4 all in one week. Swoon... I married a pin up... xc

Cloudy day

005_cloudy_skyFeeling pretty melancholy today, a great friend and a fellow 24-7er has just come down with a mystery illness. The symptoms are a little frightening and no diagnosis is in sight. All I can think is "Not him, he's brilliant, he doesn't deserve anything weighing him down". I've been praying and I don't want to give the enemy too much credit but I'm pretty sick and tired of the health and finance issues 24-7 continually faces...

Happy Birthday Smiles!

Sam_and_super_girl_smilesThe beautiful Smiles is 25 today! Hurrah I hear you cry, and you should, she's spendid and I am very grateful to have known her for six of her 25 years on planet earth. Sadly I missed her "I have never..." fancy dress party but thoroughly enjoyed working out everyone's "I have never" themes from all her pics. Test your noodle with some obvious and some thoroughly obscure outfits below...

Congratulations Ben & Gemma!

Gemma_2Just a short note about a fabulous weekend. Ben McIntyre is hitched! Ben & Gemma were married out doors at the foot of Ben Nevis in Scotland. It was a simple but beautiful day with breath taking vistas, scrummy food and excellent speaches. Well worth the 23 hours of driving to be there and celebrate the formation of a new family. A selection of pics are to your right... enjoy xc

New Traditions

Steve_adam_scaryThis Easter was a real break form the norm as Steve and I ventured into new waters and invited both sides of our stupendous family to come and join us in Chichester, rather than high-tailing it round England. Though we lacked the slick hosting skills of our proficient mothers the weekend was a resounding success...

Good curry & great company

Chicken_curryThere is nothing more enjoyable than a glass of red wine, a plate of freshly made curry and great company. Last night Steve and I paid a long overdue visit to our good friends Ed & Jenni in their new home in Littlehampton and as always, I left regretting that we do not see them more...
