Greenbelt

Steve_carla_samuelThe Hardings have returned to the House of Sven after a month of festivals, friends and fickle weather. We're a little weary, happy to be home and facing an industrious September. After a slow spring working on a couple of projects Steve is now running at full speed after a packed summer and a pleasantly full autumn and winter coming up...

Paul_sleeping_2After the busyness of Soul Survivor (2000 young people became Christians in one week!!!) the laid back hippy nature of Greenbelt was a welcome change. We camped with Paul, Cathy and Isobel Burton, Dan, Rachel and Samuel Wheeler, Jez, Esther and Asher Higham with assorted friends and relatives. Our new inflatable airbed was given an outing and apart from some unfortunate early morning deflating it served us well.

I rocked the Pop Star covering her post-party bleeryness look with sunglasses in the morning (camping does nothing for my bags darling) and my wellies were discarded as the sun blasted us with a summers worth of sunbeams in two baked days.

Highlights included:
Isobel_steve_carla_samuel*Hummingbird, Cathy's new band described as the British version of the Dixy Chicks.
*Comedy, my husbands witty offerings whilst stroking the ivories for Dan Wheeler and Miss Burton.
*Toddlers, life moves on and we had three gorgeous todlers in our midst; Isobel Burton, Samuel Wheeler and Asher Higham. I felt broody and happy to wait a little longer all at once.
*Duke Special, barmy and brilliant!

Greenbelt was especially relaxing as I was off duty for the bank holiday weekend. I had no other responsibility other than hanging out with Steve and acting as an unpaid roady. I'm getting quite used to being a WAG these days. You get in free, get a backstage pass and get to know lots of lovely people. I sat grinning with pride and pleasure every time my hot husband played, he did so well :) xc
