Charlotte and I arrived back in Chi on the 23rd rather jet lagged but excited to be home. Chichester was abuzz with well wishers and last minute shoppers and as I fought my way through the crowds I was glad to be back. Christmas Eve I traveled back to Grendon burdened with cloths and presents, took a deep breath and plunged into a Trundle family Christmas...
For those of you who know my family it will come as no shock that Christmas is a very big deal. Carl joined us last year and did an admirable job of surviving without going deaf.
The Trundle family is very close and more than a little eccentric. I, believe it or not, am the quietest and most sensible member. I'm always being ribbed by my siblings for being the good one and my sister doubles my decibels in volume. You may think I'm lieing but I promise you I'm not.
After America I decided to take a week at home to chill out and catch up with Mum, Dad and Adam properly (Lisa has to go back to work sob!). It's lovely to be back in Grendon, Jay from NY joined us for Christmas day and rhapsodised over the countryside. I must bring people home more often, it reminds me of what a wonderful place my parents live in,
Christmas eve was the traditional "Night Before Christmas" recital with all the Trundles tucked into Adam's bed. That did seem a little strange this year as my brother is nearly 16. As we said our prayers as a family Lisa turned out the lights and got a torch to make a holy light and Adam sang like an angel as I prayed. Apparently being part of 24-7 makes me the Holy Child.
Christmas day was full of great food, a lot of laughter and good friends. When Jay left boxing day he left us a letter that said Christmas here reminded him how important and wonderful family is. I feel all warm and fuzzy and thoroughly agree. I have turned off my mobile and I've made no plans this week. I'm here to read, chat to God about some stuff I've been mulling over and spend some time with my family. I can feel my bones relaxing as I type... Merry Christmas everyone. I pray your having a relaxing and joyful Christmas where ever you may be...
PS - I got a camera from my parents so expect some Trundle Christmas photos up this week...
