Thursday nights are Cellery nights for the Graduates in Revs and I really look forward to them. I'm part of a lovely group of people who are very diverse but genuine, gifted and very funny. Last night I took photos to make hero cards of them all (sort of Top Trumps cards to help you pray) and thought I'd use the pics to introduce you to my friends. Click the thumbnails to enlarge, I know you'll love them as much as I do...
First up is our newest addition and baby Christian whom we love - Alex. Alex joined us last summer after meeting God and joining Revs. He works as a painter/decorator and has a gentle and generous heart...
Next up is the beautiful Smiles. Every time I tried to take her picture she moved, hence the closed eyes. Smiles works in the housing department of our local council and is a very good friend who loves people with all her heart...
The infamous and lovable Matthew is a gem. Matt is a youth worker and part of the learning support team at our local college. The thing that strikes me most about Matt is that no matter what he's going through, he's always looking for Jesus in it...
Becky is fourth up and I'm really glad she's moved to Chi. Becky is training with Oasis trust to be a youth worker and has the easy confidence and comforting nature that relaxes everyone around her. She is one of those people that everyone talks to because she makes you feel heard and understood...
Sam is outdoor adventure youth worker who takes kids on the brink of exclusion and helps them achieve goals, build their self-esteem and work with other people. She quietly lives her life with integrity and has a warm and easy smile that chuckles it's way through most cell meetings...
Mark (aka Yatsy) is a renowned member of the Chi community. Known for his stand up comedy and passion for people he is an hysterical and provocative member of the group. He brings a lot of light to an evening but really challenges me with how seriously he takes the people he meets in his social work role in Littlehampton...
Sadly missing last night was Dan, as we were laughing, joking and talking about Jesus, Dan was tucked up in bad with Man Flu. Dan hails from Fareham, is passionate about God (and growingly Ibiza). Dan and Becky are getting married this year and I respect his thoughtful nature and integrity. We missed him last night but I'll try to get a picture up of him soon!
Last but not least is this strange girl called Carla who keeps turning up, talking very loudly and laughing til she cries. I know we're supposed to love everyone but if she continues to behave this way we may have to ask her to leave...
