Yesterday, the always wonderful, Matthew Hughes texted me in a flurry of excitement with an interesting idea for cell. Matthew is a wonderfully creative young man, his ideas are always worth a go, so, without hesitation, I gave him the cell for the evening to do with what he would...
He texted the guys and asked them to come clean shaven and I texted the girls and told them to expect the unexpected. When we piled into Shangi La we were confronted by a plethora of face painting paraphernalia! There were paints, glitter and tattoos and Matt proudly announced that tonight we would be encouraging each other by painting how we see people and the great things in them on their faces!
It was an utterly quality idea and my cell are an adventurous bunch who got stuck right in. The masterpiece at the top is what I painted on Matthew's face and represents his empathy with Spiderman (to deep to share in a mere blog entry), the gold side of his face is God's glory shining brighter and brighter through him ala 2Cor 3:18 and the tree is a symbol of his growth towards all God has called him to be.
As well as making deep spiritual insights we had lots of fun getting really really messy! It amazes me that the older and more 'responsible' I get the more I enjoy acting like a 5 year old! :)
