Today is a lovely day. I woke up with a gleeful stretch and the sound of Ben arriving back safe and sound from Indonesia. I had a liesurely shower made myself a packed lunch (my first new week's resolution, more later) and headed into the office for a quiet day to myself. Hurrah - I have total control of today's soundtrack!
After emails, prayer rooms, transmission and sorting out my work plan for the week I endulged in some Broccoli and Stilton soup and a soft roll; proper food! I now have that satisfied, just eaten something tasty feeling and I'm downloading the new Star Wars trailer before I crack on with this afternoon's jobs.
I made a decision at the weekend that I needed to shake things up a little. I set myself some new week's resolutions (I can accomplish a week) of some really small things that will help me be more pro-active. Resolutions include...
***Having a pack lunch each day to save the monetary and fleshy pounds. (As an extention of this I'm also trying to stop snacking between meals.)
***At least 20 minutes of focused time with God each day (I've got a bit lax and it's more every three days at the minute.)
***Mascara only to the office to give my skin and my vanity a break.
***Be asleep by midnight.
***Be in the office by 9.15am... I am getting really bad in the morning!
***Limiting my internet surfing to my lunch break and the end of the day.
***Answering at least two of the tough questions my mentor set me... hmmm maybe with a glass of wine.
***Writing the card I've been meaning to write to a good friend for over a week.
I'll let you know how I do. I've decided to start them from now as I've already broken two last night and this morning. Woops! I had good reason! I kidnapped my man and took him to West Witterings beach for a night picnic. It was a lovely evening of laughter, bundling up in a million layers and blankets, tea & cigars, candles in jars, walking by the shore and other stuff I'm not typing here. I have a silly smile today and it's probably why my Monday seems so bright. xc
