It's Friday so naturally I'm counting the hours, staring longingly at the sunshine (!!!) streaming through the office window and surfing the Empire website for the latest trailers to delight and entertain...
It's been at least three posts since I mentioned the much anticipated Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith (here in known as SWE3:ROTS to save my poor fingers) and in that time I have had some interesting escapades trying to down load the brand spanking new trailer.
Last Friday I got incredibly excited to hear of it's release and rushed straight to the (incredibly slow!) Star Wars sight to view it for myself. When I got there I was a little perplexed to find that only members could view it so promptly tried to sign up. Guess how much it costs to become a Star Wars Hyperspace member!?! $40!!! What a rip off!!! I was so disappointed that I started thinking about what I could forfeit this month in exchange for access to the membership when I noticed the fine print...
"Children under 12 can sign up for free!"
I hatched a cunning (and slightly immoral) plan. I signed up as Carla Trundle the lovable little 11 year old star wars fan (I thought 12 would be too obvious) who would just love to watch the trailer now! As my membership was processed the cracks in my plan began to emerge...
"Thank you Carla for your application please supply the email address of a parent or guardian who can confirm your identity."
I had to actually beg my Dad to lie for me on line. He could barely type through fits of laughter and bouts of telling me off.
"I can't believe your making me lie for you!"
"But Daaaddd, its STAR WARS!!!"
One confirmation from my Father later and I was good to go... sadly, God may have wanted to teach me a lesson. As I signed into the site something rather frustrating kept happening. I got caught in one of those horrible Internet loops where you just can't get to the page you want to!!!! I nearly beat up my computer in frustration! The Mac Master Ben even tried but the two of us starred baffled at the screen feeling thoroughly let down.
An hour later and I was downloading bit streaming software and a vlc player. Two hours later, download complete, I witnessed one of the most exciting trailers I have seen since LOTR:ROTK! The darkness! The passion! The corruption! The lightsabers! If you haven't seen it click here... Empire now have it for all to see. If I'd waited three days I could have saved myself a lot of hassle but hey, you have to suffer for your art!
The second (not as exciting but still peaking my interest) trailer I watched today was the second teaser trailer for the Spielberg/Cruise Juggernaut "War of the Worlds"! I'm not a fan of the Cruiser, but I'll go and see anything made by Steven and this looks like it won't disappoint. Check it out here...
