I'm speaking in Revs (my church here in Chi) the Sunday after next and I am rather nervous. I've travelled to four different countries to speak for 24-7 but never have I stood up in my own community and talked about the bible. I am more nervous about this than any talk I've ever done. The opinion of my community means a lot to me, if I screw up here I don't get to take my notes and run, safe in the knowlege I may never see them again...

OK, so to be upfront, I am not profound, I am a blog blagger. This question was on Jonah's blog a couple of days ago and I love it...
"What would you attempt to do if you knew you could not fail?"
It's an interesting one to ponder. My imediate thought was 'Play the Piano! Write songs!' and then 'Explain why I love Jesus in a way people could understand', which proves I'm more ambitious than spiritually focus ;). What's your answer? xc

Hi Guys, I don't normally do this but I received an email this morning and I'd like to do something to help. My new friend Maggie emailed me to ask if I'd sign an online petition to free an English guy called John Packwood. He's been unjustly imprisoned in Spain under a ten year old International Warrant issued by the Moroccan Government...

It is finally complete and by some great mercy I am not dissapointed. Saturday night Steve, Troy, Michaela, Jamie, AJ, Becky and I all qued for 45minutes to get our seat for Revenge of the Sith. I have to admit I was a mixed bag of emotion. Part excited 5 year old, part sceptic fan. As the music began and opening scrall made it's way accross the screen I lost myself in Lucas's world hoping beyond hope that he could pull this tricky transitional film out of the bag. My verdict...

When I came on this retreat I found myself praying again and again, “Lord, I don’t want to get in the way of anything you’re doing.” Last night I took some time to tell my story and everything God’s done for me, it went well I think. Honesty generally goes down well…

Yesterday at Granddad’s really did end up being a rest. After panicking that I may have to do the Methodist Youth Worker’s retreat on my own I sat in the garden, basking in the sunshine, apologising to God for being such a doubting wimp. I was acting like the whole thing depended on me rather than this lovely person called Jesus. It was a nice reality check!

It’s Sunday afternoon and I’m sitting in my Granddad’s living room writing on my iBook whilst he watches the football. This house is a treasure trove of childhood memories, everything from the garden I used to play in to the china figurines I used to want to take down and touch…

I'm typing this in a Gatwick departure lounge (isn't modern technology wonderful?) and I'm awaiting my announcement for my gate. I am about to board a Ryan Air (please pray for my safety) flight to Dublin! I am excited and nervous. I haven't been back in 5 years but it is my city of birth and I should probably stand on my own two feet so I'm visiting without my parents...

Until yesterday I had blocked the film event of the year from my memory as the pain of being unable to attend the premiere on Monday had been too much for me to handle. But this morning as I poured my frosties into a sandwhich bag to take to the office a little present dropped into my life that has re-awakened my passion...

I finished Kurt Vonnegut's Cat's Cradle on my first day in Germany and I've been mulling over it for the last week. It took me quite a while to get used to his writing style and about half the book to really get into the story. It's an unusual book, well written with some interesting thoughts but I would struggle to say that I like it because I fundamentally disagree with it...

I have that slightly nervous feeling in my tummy about the coming week. There’s lots to do, people to see, places to go and though I’m excited to be travelling again for the first time in what seems like ages (though realistically is only five months), I’m somewhat apprehensive that I’m going to manage to get everywhere on time…

The beautiful Michaela celebrated her Birthday in style at the weekend by throwing a come-as-the-movie-character-you-most-resemble party! She, of course, came as Uma from Kill Bill strutting her stuff in a little yellow number and once again the Chi massive threw themselves into the festivities with gusto...
