It's Monday morning, I've been back in Chi 24 hours and now I'm sitting in my living room, staring at my suitcase, waiting for CHarlotte to get out of the bath and come pick me up. Madrid was amazing and seeing it looks like I'm not going anywhere for a few minutes, I thought I'd share my highlights...
First and most importantly Jaz (our lovely Spanish base leader) and Rebecca (her Mum and Pastor) were incredibly welcoming and hospitable, opening up there home to a tired English girl. I loved...
***Sonny their big golden dog.
***Walking around Madrid, seeing the big square, old Palace, Cathedral and Kilometre 0 in the centre of town.
***Great food! Spaniards do eat well...
***Three hour coffee with Jaz talking Spain, the 24-7 team, how I can support her and how she can develop as a leader in the coming year. (Jaz really is amazing, at 20 she's a more mature and dedicated team leader than most leaders I know. I really am very proud of you babe, you're doing a great job!)
***Meeting Kenny Clewett and his girlfriend Martha for Tapas and chatting about worship.
***Offering our home to a Spanish girl who wants to change her life. More on that some other time...
***Meeting with the Spanish team; praying, worshipping, dreaming, evaluating, eating and laughing. I loved it. Thanks for letting me crash your team day guys. I promise to speak a little more Spanish next time!
So Charlotte's jsut arrived so I'm gonna have to leave my reminiscing there. Love to you all. I'll try to post on my adventures in Staines... Hmm... Madrid to Staines, what a glamorous life I lead... xc
