Why do we do it to ourselves? Why are all the healthy things painful or tasteless? Charlotte and I have decided that exercise needs to be part of our daily working rhythm alongside prayer, blogging, bible reading and managing emails, so this week I have mostly been gasping for breath…
Each lunchtime we give ourselves a half hour psych-up and then go for a jog on a lovely little route we’ve picked out round the lakes. We can really only manage about 10-15 minutes at the minute but it’s a start and I could notice the difference today! I went about 50 metres further before that lunge pain kicked in.
It’s good to do it together, we’re on a par in our fitness and neither of us wants to punk out if the others still going so we end up pushing each other past the point where we’d give up on our own. Today we put a few jogging tunes together to keep our momentum. Today’s play list included Gorillaz, NERD, Missey Elliott and Basement Jaxx. We looked like true joggers with our colour co-ordinated outfits and white headphones, if we could stop gasping like Guppy Fish then we might just pull it off!
