Picture this… Charlotte and I tootling along in faithful but slightly dilapidated car, punctually on our way to the 24-7 UK Network Day. We have coffee, time to chat, warm coats, bibles to catch up on Transit reading and a whole boot full of merchandise to deliver. Nothing could stand in our way. Nothing that is, except our own insuppressible ability to create drama…
Charlotte merrily driving to the Gorillaz Album…
“Carla, shouldn’t we have hit the M1 by now?”
Carla glancing up from her Bible, a Holy glow shimmering from her face…
“Hmmm, yeah. Have you missed the turning?”
Charlotte: “Er I haven’t seen any signs”
Carla frowning: “None at all?”
Charlotte looking a little nervous: “Er… no”
Carla glances up searching for a sign, as if on queue, looming out of the rainy gloom come the words “Dartford Tunnel”
Carla: “What!?! This is the wrong way round the M25”
Charlotte: “ No it’s not. Is it?”
Carla: “Er Yeah, Luton’s at the top of London near my parents…”
Charlotte: “Oh it’s not that big airport to the right of it then…?
One rather long and traffic heavy journey later and we arrived two hours late. Oh well. One day we will manage a journey without some level of drama.
Actually it was a blessing in disguise, lots of time to chat and read, and the UK network day was fantastic as usual. 78 members of the 24-7 UK family gathering to tell stories, pray, eat food and discuss the future of our movement. Lovely!
I always leave them knowing God can and is transforming the world. I also leave feeling very loved as I received literally dozens of hugs and kisses from some very lovely people… xc
