In Chichester of Yesteryear on a weekday night you could walk into the pub of the moment and be guaranteed to find a cluster of Revs guys out for the night, the life and soul of the party. Throughout the years this trend has diminished, lifestyles have become less flexible and tastes have diverged...
In some ways I’ve really missed it, I’m not a massive pub kind of gal but I do miss shaking my tail feather with my ladies to some particularly funky tunes. Last night it was The Bull revisited! The Vestry hired Adam (ASkillz) Mills to play a few tunes hoping for a bit of an increase on their Tuesday night numbers. Little did they know they'd opened pandora's box.
The pub was packed by nine O'clock, the atmosphere was sizzling and Adam was slamming down the tunes. The tables were pushed back and the dance moves were frenetic. What I loved most was the reunion of all the Revs guys with the 20 something funky community of Chichester. There were only three Chavs in the building, sadly two of them hit on me in true no-personal-space-trying-to-dance-next-to-me fashiong whilst the other tried it on with Charlotte; poor foolish boy. I had a panicked five seconds where I froze trying to remember how to dance and then busted a groove with the rest.
The B Boyz were tearing up the floor, everyone was laughing and Charlotte treated everyone to her own unique brand of breakdancing when it all got a little a posy. Check out the video! Download charlotte_breakdancing.3gp
The energy, the music, the people, the dancing! I spent most of the night dreaming up lesson plans to teach hiphop. Hmmm definitely got my creative juices flowing! xc
