I'm on a train to London as I type this and the view from my window is a strange collision of Spring and Winter. The dilectable blue sky and the smile tickling sun are falling on the green fields (daffs and lambs are out in abundance) but there's also a peppering of snow over the ground from the bizzarre cold spell last night. It's a welcome view; is it me or did our winter seem a lot longer this year?
This weekend was another step in our attempt to make Chichester the capitol of the world. David James, the handsome, strapping, single (ladies form an orderly queue) Transiteer was down our neck of the woods for some r&r.
We took him dancing to Havannas (I lost my mojo through kronic fatigue and resembled one of those embarrassing people who can't dance, the shame, the shame), through the sites of Chi (that took all of twenty fun filled minutes) and down to the beach to soak in the Springtime sun and walk bare foot on soft sand.
Hmmm it was absolutely lovely! Steve challenged me to a running race and then mocked me running backwards and asking me to "Try harder"! We made a totum pole (see top) and Steve stretched his climbing muscles on random bits of wood.
Charlotte and I took on a private mission to feed Dave until he burst. He's gained a reputation for always being hungry, never satisfied so when he refused seconds on dessert last night for fear he may explode we did a little victory dance around the kitchen.
My Mother always jokes that I love her most when I'm being fed, and though that may not be entirely true she's definitely on to something. I love eating socially and this weekend was filled with scrumptious meals around various tables, each surrounded by different friends laughing, eating and gently ribbing each other. As we sat last night eating our last meal with Dave I sat back content, not entirely because Ruth had made Rubbard crumble, but because I was eating it with such wonderful people.
PS - Worship was awesome (and I mean that in the true sense of the word) yesterday. I had that sense that everything just went a little deeper and the Holy Spirit was thick in the air... xc
