I like to try something new each time I travel, something truly indigenous to the nation I'm exploring, but I have to admit, I've dreaded the day I'd come face to face with a cooked bug. As Pete and I sauntered out of the building today we were invited to peer into someones lunch box and admire this unique South African cuisine... curried catapillars...
I'm not entirely sure what possesed us to try them; I think it was a mixture of wanting to embrace the culture, not wanting to look like a wooss and being egged on by Pete. Never the less that multiple legged creepy crawly found it's way into my mouth... Surprisingly crunchy but I won't be rushing to have more...
