“Transit has been really amazing for me. I’ve been treated as an adult, I’ve got pages of things I’ve learned, I’ve come so far, been broken, cried tears, been challenged in my comfort zones and astounded by God’s love for me.”
Hannah Lees, UK
As the Transit Graduating Class of 2006 gathered to share their experiences and gratitude for the last ten months of learning, living and loving God, I looked around the room at my fellow class mates and marvelled at how far we’d come in such a short space of time.
“I have absolutely loved Transit, God’s showed me that it’s ok to question and He’s rebuilt my foundations. I came like an Amish girl and God’s freed me right up.”
Sara Wagner, USA
The last year has been a intake of breath in preparation for an exhalation into the wider world and the 24-7 community. Three precious semesters to focus on what it really means to be true to Christ, kind to all people and to bring the Gospel to the nations. It was less like a training course and more like a trampoline; I’ve never felt so equipped to ‘go’.
“I’ve loved the togetherness, the teaching, it’s been such a privilege to sit at the feet of these wise people and for them to just bare their lives.”
Jamie Lottenger, UK
By the end of the course I was almost ready to say, “teach me no more!” With emphasis of application in everything we learnt and explored together there were no back row slackers with which to hide when selfishness and intertia kick in. The honesty, openness, permission to question, disagree and explore I feel like my brain has been taught how to think rather than what to think.
“This year I got addicted to Seinfeld, then the West Wing and found teaching in areas I hadn’t even realised I was thirsty. Everyone in the community has had something to teach me.”
Andy Wilson, UK/Canada
Highlights of the year would definitely include:
• David’s first grilling question to our first Transit speaker.
• The chance to sit at the feet of some incredible people.
• The openness and honesty with which people shared.
• Living in community; simultaneously the greatest joy and a challenging test.
• Mentoring, having someone who really pushed you forward.
• The great sense of community and friendship
• Blasting through the story of God. I’ll never see the Bible the same way again.
“This year I’ve learned to open up emotionally. I’ve been so encouraged by everyone.”
Andy Holt, UK
Want to connect more meaningfully with 24-7? Want to spend 10 months exploring the values that propel prayer, mission and justice throughout the globe? You could do nothing better that spend a year laying foundations in one of the Boiler Rooms in the UK or Germany with a community of people looking to grow, serve and connect with 24-7, just like you.
“Life in England has been hard and yet it’s definitely been the most rewarding nine months of my life.”
Matt Turner, USA
