Last night Steve started work at the 39 Club, teaching young people how to record music. Not wanting to miss all the fun I decided that if he's having 39 club then I'm having wine club. Thursday night is now officially my night for drinking red wine with friends. Becuase of the sad absence of Emmy (my traditional wine drinking companion) last night I headed to The Vestry to throw caution to the wind and talk to strangers...
As it turned out, about five Revs guys had the same thought and I found myself crowded round a table of half church goers and random pubbers. All absolutely lovely people. Debates raged over the basis for morality in an athiestic world view and the true nature of the Island in Lost. Ah the classics.
I met a lovely guy called Ed who's family have been in the Navy for as long as he could remember, a dude with curly hair who tried to out geek me but failed miserably (mwahahahahaaa) and caught up with Dave Miles. He is such a sweet heart, always a pleasure never a chore.
As I sat back sipping wine observing Will explaining to Ed the unique nature of Jesus, the curly hair dude pooring over a girls gossip mag someone had brought and Smiles looking after everyone in her vicinity I felt encouraged. Wine club is going to be a raging success. xc
