A week from today my best friend Miss Charlotte New will be Mrs Charlotte Terris. It totally crept up on me, I can't believe the change is iminent. I hadn't really contemplated it until her Hen Day on Saturday. Last week was such a chaos of moving, fundraising, Hen planning, hospital visits and band practices that I didn't have time to stop and think that Charlotte is actually getting married!
Her Hen Day was however a rip roaring success. All you bridesmaids get your pens and papers out... Here's how Revs girls honour their ladies, celebrate their single life and send them off into marriage-dom.
8.30am - Charlotte woken with a cup of tea and an order to get up and get dressed asap
9am - Champagne breakfast at the House of Sven
9.45am - It's costume no.1! We dress Charlotte in a pink Bridal Dress with matching accessories
10am - The 24 Challenge. Pandering to Charlotte's love of Jack Bower we presented her with a ransom video showing her gagged and bound fiance being held hostage by the Ex-Girlfriends Off Matt Front and announcing that to see him alive she must complete challenges in and around Chichester in 2hours and 44minutes (24hours real time is actually a really long time to fill with challenges so we compromised :)
10.15am - 12.44pm - Charlotte sings in the centre of town, teaches strangers how to dance, skips the city walls, has mock Wedding photos taken at the Cathedral with strangers posing as her Bridesmaids, Parents and Groom, has four men pretend to walk her down the aisle in the center of town, drops and gives us ten push ups in her fav shoe shop, convinces someone to sell her a hat at a 90% discount and blags a boquet of flowers from a local flourist all to save the life of her one true love! Charlotte is a legend and completed each task with aplomb. The only challenge she blushed at was singing! I don't know why, I thought her version of the Beatles love me do was very tuneful! 1pm - 6pm - In costume no.2 Charlotte is whisked away to Eastergate and pampered with an afternoon of Massage, a Hot Tub manacures and massive banquet on the lawn. I especially enjoyed putting her future wife skills to the test with a great game of Mr&Mrs and the Duvet/Skid mark challenge... I'll leave those to your imagination ;)
6pm - 3am - In costume no.3 we transport Lottie to the bright lights of London Town to enjoy the private Kareoke room at the Imperial China restaurant. As all the girls warbled away to such ballads as "All by myself" wearing wigs representative of Charlotte's hair adventures, we gorged ourselves on a feast of delectible Chinese cuisine. Before finishing the evening with a refreshing walk to the embankment and a gigglesome drive home.
I was absolutely exhausted after such a jam packed day but I think we can safely say it was a rip-roaring success. Charlotte fulfilled her 24 fantasies, hung out with great friends and sang Kareoke for the first time in her life!?! Eloise and I enjoyed our homage to Lost in Translation by singing our numbers with a sullen look and pink wig ala Scarlett Johanson.
Check out the photos and hilarious costumes in the photo album to your right and then follow the link to Charlotte's blog and leave her a message telling her how great she is in the run up to her Wedding...xc
