Amazed & Confused

DeLorean's Gig: Friday 28th, Chichester

Welcome, welcome one and all to the Chichester Watersports bar from 8.30pm this Friday. The DeLoreans will be playing our party tunes that span the decades and will make you wanna boogie on the deck over looking the lake. I can't wait to sing beneath the stars and Brian is planning on bringing his DeLorean Car that featured in our photo shoot if the weather stays fine. It's gonna be awesome! xc

All grown up

My not-so-little bro has finally done it. He's flown the family nest and alighted on Birmingham to expand his mind and make new friends in the world of students. I can tell a new era is dawning. He actually washed up today, other people's stuff, without Lisa or Mum nagging him too. Good golly, next he'll be growing a beard. I jest. Adam I'm really proud of you. Go take the world of politics by storm! If you expand your sociological horizons and move past the Tories I may even consider voting for you when you run for Prime Minister ;) xc

Tired Typing

Roll on the weekend! I'm a little weary as I sit at my dining room table finishing off the last few items on this week's to-do list. Wednesday night was the 24-7 Reception, last night was an evening ILT Skype meeting both of which meant I haven't really seen Steve in a few days and I'm finding it hard to get out of bed in the morning...

Inspiration

Last night's 24-7 Reception was fantastic! It was meant as a great way to help people get more involved with the life of 24-7, and it did that very well, but it's unexpected product was to remind all of us why we give our life to God and prayer. Pete spoke really well just telling stories from the last week of the movement. So much is happening, God's on the move. The Jobe's let a sneaky peak of two of the five documentaries about 24-7 be shown and they were incredible! I've never seen anything sum up the distinctive of the movement better than those audio visual windows into the lives of real people. Thank you so much for your prayers xc

This morning Stephen and I reached Romans 6 in our morning reading. Romans is always a great noodle stretcher but I find this section "You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness" v18 particularly weird to grasp...

Gutted!

Never has an email made me scream so hard for so long! Today Pete Ward broke some terrible news to me in a rather flippent manner... Robert Jordan author of the epic Wheel of Time series died. Very sad, my thoughts are with his family though my vocal disstress was for a slightly more selfish reason...

Spitalfield

I miss my Mum and Dad and Sister and Brother lots at the moment. Life in all it's busyness has kept us apart for the last month or so and I've begun to really crave their presence. Being two to three hours away makes spontaneous dinners a bit of a mission so our roundevouz yesterday in London was a precious event in my diary...

The Life of Pi

I've been reading the most engaging book this week, "The Life of Pi" by Yann Martel. The story of a young indian boy who is at once a Hindu, Muslim and Christian and his adventures on the Pacific Ocean with a Bengal Tiger. Discribed as a story that will "...make you believe in God" it's full of magic realisim, adventure and faith. Even if that faith does seem a little conflicted...

Snapshots from the House of Sven

Today is a fun day. I have straight hair, I've eaten two corn on the cobs, Steve made his best sandwhich ever (roll, pastrami, gherkin and brie) and is now sneaking James Bond keyboard riffs into a track he's recording :D I've Skyped with people in the US, UK and Canada and emailed people in about 10 different nations about prayer rooms all to the tune of Alison Krauss and the Union Station Band. Ah the joys of working at home...xc

Adrenaline

Saturday night was an absolutely blast! Steve, Nathan, Rees, Jim and I wailed, rocked and funked out at Andrea Clarke's 40th Birthday Party. It was the first time we've performed two sets of material and I have to say, I would've enjoyed boogieing to us, there's only one song choice I'd change and a few old classics I think we're yet to throw in, but all in all everyone had a good time...

Prayer

Tonight I meet the Transiteer class of 2008, the bunch of people from the UK, US, Australia and Canada who've given a year of their lives to live in a Boiler Room and explore what it means to be true to Christ, kind to people and bring the gospel to the nations. I'm joining them on their first retreat in Ashburnham to chat to them about prayer...

Faith and Expectation

When God wants to speak to me about something He often does in the form of food for though. The last few weeks/months I've been musing on my level of faith and expectation for God to move. I have faith in God, I'm grasping more of who He is every day but I think I've gotten so used to reasons why He might not answer my prayer or show the world His awesome power that I've stopped expecting to see things happen...
