To put my cards on the table I should confess that up until now I have been rather sceptical about this reboot / offshoot of the Bourne series. What's a Bourne film without Jason Bourne!?! Hand held cameras? Dangerous Beurocrats? Matt Damon's still waters run deep and deadly performance has kept me gripped through three films. Despite my misgivings I knew in my heart of hearts that I'd probably go see it. I'd see it because it's inspired by a trilogy that has reimagined the spy film in a spectacular way.
I was never greatly enamoured with Bond (don't shoot me I know everyone else loves him but I can't get past the womanising - it's not attractive).
I love Bourne.
I love the characters, the plots, the conspiracies, the naturalistic and underplayed approach to drama, the action and fighting style. After watching the trailer above I'm wondering if much of this may still be present accounted for even if our beloved Jason is missing. Take a look, tell me what you think...
